How can the unemployed find strength?
Question:
How can someone who is an out-of-work, low-income earner without any savings
and with previous debts find any strength. The government employment agency
does not offer much in the way of support or continued training these days.
– Mia, out-of-work and single teen-age parent, Stockholm
Carina answers:
In your situation is easy to dwell on what isn’t working. Those things you
set your focus on have a tendency to grow. If you were to focus instead
on those things that are positive and that work, then those will grow, which
in turn will give you strength. Once you find more strength you will be
able to take responsibility for your situation and find ways to make do
without the government employment agency. Most job openings today are filled
through channels other than the government employment agency so it’s all
about finding these channels and using them to your advantage.
